Commodore 64 cable

Post by jaytee »

Sorry this is in F42, I couldn't think of anywhere else to put it.

Anyway, I just got a Commodore 64 and a disk drive, but no cable to connect the two. I know its the old school big plug kind that I need but I can't remember what they're called to eBay it.

Point: Does anyone know what kind of cable I am looking for? Perhaps a place to buy one for cheap?

I saw that too, but thought it'd be better to just show the eBay listings for the sake of simplicity.

Thanks tons, both of you. I'd certainly make one, but do they even sell those big DIN plugs anymore?

They might, I think they were pretty common with other electronic devices, but if all else fails, you can make a homebrew one with some 14-gauge wire to go into the holes, solder smaller wires to them, dump some hot glue on 'em to keep them in place and wrap the whole deal in plastic, or some type of canister that would fit. That would be the REALLY cheap way to address the problem, but I don't recommend it unless you can't do it any other way.

hmm, I really do think this should be moved to the 2600 forum, since it's the same generation, more or less

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

Fits better in the Atari forum then the NES. Also I believe it was you who posted the first Commodore 64 thread in this forum.
