Wait till tomorrow and ill have a pic of my beta version. It is mostly complete(playable) though not spiffed up.(painted and siding on and such)
Mine is landscaped
just like you like it
It was lots of soldering. Mostly wires for the controller splitting which turnt out to be awefully hard. But for my first portable it works! Id say the hardest part was keeping analog functionality(pressure sensativity.) Because I had to mount it to the front pannel as tight as possible to get relativly good button responce. Ill take some pics of the innards tomorrow too.

Oh and to the author of the topic---I don't suggest making this portable unless you have deep pockets. I went through a couple slimlines making mine....but then again I seem to break more than your average modder because I'm always adding a ton of extra stuff. The hardest part is definitely the controller and anallog stuff. You also have to take in consideration the video problems it has...you can't watch DVDs in RGB because of Sony's protection software built in and games will go to a greenish tint after playing in RGB for 30 min. So you'll need a switch to composite. Though I recommend using a screen with component inputs if you can get your hands on one.

I've been wondering, why is that? I understand the whole DVD-macrovision thing, but what is the point of having RGB if it doesn't work right in any situation?segasonicfan wrote:…you can't watch DVDs in RGB because of Sony's protection software built in and games will go to a greenish tint after playing in RGB for 30 min.
