Hard Drive idea

This is great, i will look into building this.

i just have one simple question.... would there be a way to have an interface my pc, or access to the net? I would need to somehowget the emulators on it.i suppose i could put the hard drive in an external hard drive case, then download windows/linux onto it, then put all my emulators on there.

Is this possible? do these have pcmci ports so i could just connest to the net? or a usb?
EDIT: i found out they have pci ports.

specifically, are they any sites or books giving step by step instructions on exactly how to do this?
