Wow, the PSOne LED mod SUCKS.

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

I believe that the resistor that is normally removed for the brightness mod controls the conrast :)...so you could just replace that with a pot, as *o* is trying, I believe :)...I think he said it was 30 ohms or something...
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Yeah, but doesn't that stop working when you use RGB?

Yeah, from my experience (and apparently everyone elses) the brightness mod is only for composite.

So, what happens when you connect via RGB? Do the input signals just travel a different route?

Soo, anyone know how to get a contrast control for RGB on the PSOne screen?

About a week ago, somebody was having contrast problems with their RGB signals, so they ran their fingers along the board(like Ben), and they found a fix. I don't know where it is though.

Note, this is a good way to fry your board, and you better be lucky if you're trying it.

The RGB signals definatly travel a different route than the composite. The composite is actually "backwards" in the sense it is supposed to be an output and the "output" sound connections must be used with it. The RGB works with the "input" sound connections.

I have run my finger (licked and dry) over many a part of my psone board while it is on and, though I haven't fried it, I haven't found anyplace where the board got contrast/brightness changes. I certainly would like to know how to do this.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I could have sworn that I read somebody's post, in which they mentioned finding a fix.

What does a contrast knob/buttons actually adjust? Could a potentiometer on one of the signals (RGB, sync) adjust contrast or is there something else?
