Is it actually confirmed that the NUS-001 can take up to 5v? i might consider using the 10 and 3 batteries for the 12 and 3.3v but that raises costs. i read somewhere that it's possible to take a 7805 regulator and add resistor(s) to the +5v out to knock it down to 3v, does anyone know what resistor to use? i know absolutely nothing about resistors. and WTF is a 7808

if your lazy or dont have much expreince in electronics which it doesnt sound like. you could get like 12 volt batteries and charger and use a step up converter to get it up to 120 volts to power the pack which you could solder in back. It would just be easier to use AAs liek you were saying. Oh and boy scouts arent that bad no offesnse casue i was one for like 2 years but its really serious but it still sounds like you are going to be doing some cool things out there so have fun.
You don't have to worry about the world ending tomorrow, it's already tomorrow in Australia

apparantly, the same as a 7805, i just dont understand why people prefer it more. oh, link, let me give you an idea of how "serious" our troop is and was. when i joined in 2002, there was one rule for explosives. do not hold long when lit
. so when we went camping, we would do stuff like put the asistant scoutmaster's car on blocks and TP the car; find tires in the woods, take them to the lakeshore, douse them in gasoline, kick them down a hill and shoot at them with roman candles. we even handed out cracker weed to little frogs who didnt know better
. but it all changed in fall of '02, when i brought a M-80 to a meeting. i gave it to a kid, who decides to give it to the dumbest pyro in the troop. so, after the meeting, the dummy lit the firecracker in the teller lane at the bank next door
. so right after that my dad pulls up, i get in the truck, and he drops off my brother for his meeting. we drove off, and right at the red light we decide to go back around the block because we didnt know if my brother was even going to have a meeting. he had one, so we pull out and drive home. as we pull out i noticed a cop car sitting near the bank
. so, i bit my lip and hoped for the best. i show up the next week, the kids and scoutmaster tell me that shortly after i left, the lady that lives right in front of the bank called the police, which are like a block away, and reported a "robbery in progress at first citizen's bank". so the police pull up, sirens off, and tell the dummy and his knife-totin friend to get on the ground, as the cops draw their guns. now, the knife-toting friend is also a knife collecter. and since his mom works at the bank, he apparantly thought that he had the privelidge to park in the teller lane.(dont ask why he did)
. so the police searched them, and then searches the knife toting freind's jeep. they found his collection that he insists that he carries with him, which includes switchblades, bowies, throwers and folders. luckily, he had a license to carry these knives, so the police didnt do anything. so once they found out they were boy scouts, they told my SM to call dummy's, knife's, and my parents to tell them what we did.
but, my parents still dont know about it to this day
. ok, back on topic. i think my neighbors will be back tommorrow, so i can start on that pack. i plan on using a 5in. b/w screen for the n64. and after jambo, im gonna turn this sucker into a full fledged portable! i've already got the concept down, i'll post them later. oh yeah, the beach trip didnt happen, just like it hasnt for the past 5 years.

ok my neigbor got back and i got the N64. well, i had never looked inside it, so i took apart a controller (and broke it, so i took apart another), and that led to taking apart the N64, so i might do a size reduction on this thing like i did with a SNES(which i fried later on). and does the 3.3 line really take 2.3A?! that seems a little too high. i'm still wondering what resistor you use for a 7805 to reduce it to 3v. my N64 is a NUS-001, so is it really proven to be safe to use like around 5v for the 3.3v? and for the heatsinks, can i use something like the heatsink for regulators? here's a picture of my portable concept.

the L,R, and Z buttons will be in a gamecube style layout.
i might use a bunch of AAs to power it, and im going to put all four ports on it and put in a switch to select the built in or external control for 1st player (Gamelver stole my idea, though
) i wont put in a chraging circuit, unless theres room. no rumble motors, either. i havent got any actual dimensions for the project, as i dont have a screen to put in a test case (although i expect it to be 3inches x-s on each side. the cartidge will go down the back. should i remove the Exp. port, or do i need it for something? Ok time for off topic questions. what does IMO, IMHO and LMAO mean? ive been on the web since the web becasme cool, and ive never figured it out.
