Anyone have a good front/back picture of the NESp left board

Post by egomine »

I think I've located the short/or wrong connection on the left board (b,a, select, start buttons one). It looks like I have everything matching the book though so I'm wondering if anyone out there with a working NESp like the book can send me a picture (front & back) of that piece. The book I have has pictures that are so washed out It's really hard to compare some areas.

Why do I think it's that area? Because when using the multimeter trying to find the short I dropped one end and it hit the aluminum side which started playing the audio perfectly.

I don't know if this will help you, but I do know one thing about the left board. The resistor above the start button in the diagram on page 155 is not connected to the tact switch below it. But it should be.

Without this, you'll have no controls.

What other symptoms is your unit having. Do you have video?

I have video only it's garbled, but I've really cleaned all the connectors (and the cart plays normally on an unmodified NES)

Thanks for the tip though. I'll look into that
