If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.
I'm not sure how many mcd my LEDs output, but they were rated at 3.6v@100ma, so they'd definitely be much brighter than your 20ma ones, segasonicfan ....how many ma do your leds consume, gannon? I think I used the ultrabright ones, too
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!
HI
I don't have this problem cause I got a sharp LQ6AN101 wich has a backlight but I saw somewhere ben's new lightmod by bypassing a fuse ore something on the back perhaps search for this
we've already addressed that in this post...the short out fuse mod only works to raise the brightness on composite input, not RGB. It also destroys the contrast. I'll try the mod with 3 or 4 5000 mcd LEDs and see the results =)
To make the lighting more even, I believe you can sand off a bit of the LED cover, and that helps distribute the light better. If that doesn't work, you can place a small lens over the LED to spread the light.
A thin sheet of plexi glass and a mirror under the lcd glass should really help with dissipating the light. Here's a picture...
But with all that stuff under the lcd it will probably crack!
