I broke 3 ps1s too. Ill probably give up soon. Im trying to get the last one fixed by this electrical engineer, but he says that its my battery thats the problem. Hes an idiot, because I told him like three times that I tested it with the Ps1 plug but he still says it doesnt get enough power. Oh well.

I recommend you get a digital Soldering Iron Set. The top of the line Weller one is $150. I have it and it has saved my ass sooo much. I can even turn down the temp to solder to thermal fuses. It has the really high quality tips and goes up to 850 degrees! It also has automatic shutoff if you're not using it for a long time.

Yay! Another Weller fan
I love my iron a LOT! I don't know if I would even enjoy portablizing if I didn't have it. It dosn't even compare to a Radio Shack iron. Plus it doesn't burn you since the handle stays cool and the tip is the only hot part. The only downside is the price, but it's well worth it.

Yeah my dad has 2 old Wellers. I think he got them back in 1982 or something like that. No variable temp, you just have to be careful, that's all.
I think they still have the original tips. (not kidding) I think they were designed for a lot of use or for manufacturing or something. Listen to us everybody, if you're going to be doing a lot of soldering for a long time, get something that is going to last longer than the $20 Rat Shack iorns.
(oh and the soldering iorn temp control I was talking about is here.)

I hate RadioShack iorns. I've burnt my self at least 10 times...im missing parts of my fingerprint now. Then my stupid friend came over, "is this hot?" "...ummm ya, it melts metal" (a few min later) "Ouch!, that is hot" "NO S***, I told you that"vb_master wrote:Wait... did you guys mod your PSP's? I guess I'm lucky, 1 lit pixel, no physical defects, nothing missing from the box.
BTW RadioShack Irons ROCK!
