Canada, which was originally in the ownership of Britain, was taken over by French. US gets independence. Frenchies move over to Canada over the course of 200 years or so. They give us the Statue for the 100 year anniversary of independence (1886).

Some of your Canadian history is a bit wrong, but whatever. At least Canada knows how to be a country without interferring with everybody else's business. *Bowling for Columbine flashback*
