If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.
had an adjustable DC-DC adapter, and it piped in 10.25 volts into my screen... i now check the voltage after i adjust it now...
sum things went pop, and fizz after the incident... funny thing was is that i had the screen switched off the whole time, yet i still manage to fry it...
well the screen i brought back from the dead is still slightly funky because it wont take in power from pin 1 for some reason and sometimes it wont even power up
it got like this because of my possessed Ni-Cd battery from rad shack
i broke my screen in a weird way. i kept my screen on a work BENCH, then my brother jumped on it 'for fun' then the screen went flying and landed in a hearstopping THUD
Oh god, where to start! My Verge screen.... I fried the original power circuit in the base, luckally, i didnt need it. I killed one of the headphone jacks while removing it. I put in my own jack so i could have a small power/video jack. I had an assload of trouble getting RGB to work properly cause' of signal strenght problems. Not to mention the computer wouldnt detect it as a secondary display. Audio wont work until i bypass the removed headphone jack switch lines. I also wound up accidentally applying power across the composite input line, completely NUKE'ING some componets off the bord.
My Intec PS2 Controller screen... I FRIED the voltage regulatore. I made a replacement, but its not the same. In the process of completely destroying the regulator, i fried the audio amp.
It seems i usually make really dumb mistakes that blow stuff up.
i dint realize yu could fry a screen even when its off... but it seems whatever blew, cant be exactly sure, it was directly connected into the power switched... wasnt too important, still works.
we just need a story of one of those haunted batteries...
