Cleaning the LCD

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Cleaning the LCD

Post by Tokeydog »

Hello,

I got the book about a week or so ago and started collecting the materials and parts needed for the PS1p project. Currently I'm in the middle of both the PS1 screen LED hack and desoldering parts off of the PS1. Just waiting on parts from digikey, they should be here today.

Ok the question is this. I got a used PS1 system/screen combo. It is a bit smudged up. What would be a recommened way of cleaning the screen with out scratching it with any abresives I might not be aware of?

Thanks in advance and now off to another forum to search on the issue with my controller.

I use this special super-soft glasses cleaning cloth. They come in those screw driver repair kits I think.

ok. I will try one of those. I wanted to try the piece of cloth that came with the Sony PSP, but I'm a bit hesitant on that.

thanks.

What is the cloth like? Is it meant to clean the PSP screen?

yea it is, but sometimes it can pick up "dirt" and provide the screen with custome pinstripes if you know what I mean.
