Nintendo Revolution and High Defintition

i wonder what these japanese peeple do in board meetings... a transcript would be interesting to read... "maybe we shouldnt appeal to a broader audience"...
the 360 has HD support, and it is MANDATORY for every game to be made in that way... my original x-brick has all them nice rez, and yu are able to access them after getting a composite adapter... while still not as nice looking as i would have hoped, i cant ask for much on a 100 inch front projection tv.
whats the next format... i heard sumthin of HDMI, a digital link where audio and video is fed thru the same cable, kinda looks like a USB head.

By then, HDTVs will probably be dirt cheap. Even now, you can get an HD-ready TV for a little over $300. (No tuner, but will work fine for games.) Nintendo really has no excuse this time.benheckc wrote:Nintendo is probably thinking that the number of HDTV sets now and next year upon release and used by players will not be high enough to justify the extra expense of adding parts to their system. Thing is, what about down the road, say 2008 or 2009, when HDTV's can be had for $500 of less, and a good number of people WILL have them.

I think this is going against their saying "we are an and company not an or company" (Who's sig is that? Goodie
? )Their targeting the "lower" age group and it seems that every time they realese another system the targeting group gets lower and lower and lower...... They've finally got it right with online (and free too!) and now they wanna screw that up by makeing another big mistake. They've said graphics arent everythjing so that probably means their graphics will be weaker than the compeditors so why not support HD so you and expose every nook and cranny of your graphics to a sharper and cleaner degree. (of course porbably not close to the other compeditors graphics)

man its a to show they wont bend over for flash, they are form and fonction. PSP and the PS2 have come out sportting a Gimmic like secondary media (music and movies) when they vertuly ignore games. x-box is just genaric and simple (a PC for your living room) the game cube is pointless (amp up the graphics a decent amout and make boring games) it realy doesnt matter what the revolution x-box360 ps3 or the DS and psp have under the hood, are there new games that thrill you? do they apeal to you? and will you play with it again and again. the rest is meaningless, cheap DVD players in facny plastic.benheckc wrote:I heard about this a couple days ago but didn't post anything until now.
Not supporting HDTV is really really REALLY stupid. It's clear that they either have 1) no intention of marketing to adults and savey gamers or 2) are completely out of their minds. Really this is worse than "no CD-ROM" for the N64!

Wait...
Didn't they say VGA? Doesn't VGA= High Def? or are they going to run at 640x480-1024x768? I mean IF it supported 1280x1024, that would surely allow higher res graphics.
X360 has VGA support.
PS3 Probably does.
Why not use something that most people who are sending them the e-mails already have?
BTW, That guy who found that pr0n site with that nintendo thing is probably deleting these e-mails right now.

I honestly think that excluding HD from the Revolution is a great idea. It will save Nintendo (and probably us) a lot of money, and I frankly don't understand what the big deal is about. My friend has HD support on his TV and I can't see much of a difference between it and my good ol' 1995 TV. At the Revolution's launch, very few people will have HDTVs. This is when the majority of consoles are sold. Many people may have HDTVs in 2008, but by then they will already have a Revolution if they ever wanted one.
By the way, I think it's incredibly ironic that people who build their old portables out of consoles with crappy graphics care that a new console with fantastic graphics might not look quite as good because it doesn't support their fancy HDTV.
Who agrees?

Exactly, thank you! Its like 'why bother' in every aspect. Who cares how the graphics look, because in the end, 360 will be getting the same Halo junk, and PS3 will be getting Tony Hawk 4 million and GTA We-cant-make-up-any-more-Cities.F wrote:I honestly think that excluding HD from the Revolution is a great idea. When the computer has the power to display many of these new games, will we see ports of these console games? I mean, I don't want to spend $1000 again upgrading my PC just to play UT2007. Games that are in higher resoulutions look better. PSone emulators can run at 1280x1024, So I use it. Any emulator I use for the first 3d era (PSone, SS, N64) I run at the highest resolution possible. I think Nintendo is leaving it out for the classic games that they will be showing. Most of them won't need high def to look good. It would be nice to see if they are going to make the N64 graphics look sharp. Nintendo may not need high def, but I can't judge that completely without seeing any games that are not pre-rendered. Some of the 360 shots look like a 64bit xbox running at 2ghz with my slightly crappy 9600 pro.
Who says High Def is in Nintendo's ideal future?
*end random ranting, etc.*
