I am liking the PSOne car adapter because then I can run all of my 9.6V batteries, in parallel, and it'll knock down the amperage and volts for the psone and NES... Thanks guys!

That varies between screens. most use a 7805, but some use 12V.

I have the official Sony lcd screen. This was the problem i was running into before, anything above 3 amps would make the light get really, really bright... i tried to make my psone just run off of batteries for my plane trip home. Needless to say it didn't work. I was using 4 9.6V 1.6mAh batteries. Will the PSOne battery adapter still work if I run them in parallel, so the psone will work fine? If I can get that running, I have a NES disk for PSOne I can use for now.

the screen and nes shouldn't need to use any more than 1.5A without any major modification.

You would somehow have had to reduce the resistance of the whole system... and that's not easy.

OK then looks like I have to keep the amps down to 3A to get more battery life... can I use the PSOne car adapter as a regulator? I want to get my PSOne running off of batteries really soon, and if I can get the part here, that would be awesome, and the adapter *should* knock down all the amps for the psone... I hope so at least. can I use a car adapter??!

The only way I can think of to bring the Amps down is to do the LED backlight on the psone screen if you haven't already... any other ideas people? ::coughgannoncough::

You could also use ldo regulators to save wattage. That'd only work if you need a battery smaller than 7V though. Anyways, the led mod and also doing the brightness mod to the screen would help. Also, for the nes, I'd buy a famicom-on-a-chip and get the nes-famicom converter. That would also decrease the amount of amps it would draw.

Yeah... I guess if you wanted to run it off 4 non-rechargables you could use a ldo...

OK I got my PSOne and NES running off of a 7.2V 3mHa battery. I dunno how long it'll last but at least it works now. now that they work off of batteries, its just a matter of time for me to get a case made, either from specifications and going down the street and pay for the guy to make it, or get a dremel and plastic and make it myself. either way, i still am waiting for a new cartridge connector so those 2 things are keeping me from making my NESp.

i was gonna wait till its done... its basically gonna look like a huge gameboy advance sp, with the psone screen leaving it as foldable to protect the screen.

I was in tachikawa and I seen the Famicom player for GBA SP. Turns it on, you need a GBA game just to boot the Famicom, and the famicom games run at like 15-20 fps. Not worth the money.
