Radica rom games

Post by sbf »

Hi, ive just finished soldering wires to a cart connector,
and now have to solder this to the radica.

Do I have to remove the game rom chip and solder to the pads left on the board?

Or can I solder to the chip, would it auto switch between the rom games and cart when a game is plugged in?,
or would I need some switch setup?

thanks.

I was think in about the switching thing myself and to get the chip off you could de solder all the pins maek sure that all of the pins dont touch the board and use a screw driver to pry it off

you could wire a switch that swithces whether the ground goes to the rom chip or cart slot. ignore the dots in my diagram:

. . . . . . . . . .Switch_____
_______________| . | . |___________________ROM Chip ground
| . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . |
| . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . |
| . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Ground
|
|Cart slot ground

wire all the other wires in paralell

NOTE: I have never done this before, so you do this at your own risk. Any melted or obliviated radicas or any damage to yourself/others/your radica/the donut you were about to eat is solely your fault, and not mine
