A fairly old pirate "Genesis 3" with built-in game

Post by az_bont »

I came across this a couple of years ago, but the site disappeared completely for a long time. I just happened to stumble across it today, and remembered seeing a review of a pirate "Genesis 3" with a handful of built-in games.

They're probably a nightmare to find now, and no doubt a lot more expensive than a Radica. But maybe compatibility will be better?

Anybody know anything more about this one?

In Brazil, the Genesis is known as the Mega Drive, so I would have thought none of their units would have "Genesis" written on them - but they do make some very similar Master System units.

I wonder if you could butcher the ROM chip inside the TecToy Mega Drive and build a portable with 60 built-in games?

They also make a very unusual Master System handheld which transmits the TV signal over the air, so you don't even have to connect it via cables .

There is absolutely no doubt that thing is pirate. Titus the Fox, Son Son? Those were games on other systems. Pirates always train games to start on other levels.
