76000 Games in a Gameboy. I call it the MegaJoyBoy! BIG PICS
Moderator: Moderators
I really like your idea! Therefore, I am going to copy it!
I have my 12-year old Game Boy that no longer works (even if it did, it has many rows of dead pixels). I also have a Super Joy that I find completely useless! I bought it in July 2003, played with it for one night, and put it away ever since. Best of all, I even have a tri-wing screwdriver! So, I decided I will start a slow moving project to unite the two into your design. I do need to get a screen.
I did find this problem though:
The PCB with the game globs and cartridge slot are too wide for the Game Boy case. Did you cut yours down at all?
Thanks,
Brendan

you're going to have to desolder the cartridge connector.|B| wrote:I really like your idea! Therefore, I am going to copy it!

For some reason I can't get my hacked controller chip to work, could someone tell me if I have it wired right?
Right now I'm just testing it to get it to work, so I have it wired to an NES plug, which I have plugged into my NES. I only have a switch for start hooked up right now.

On the left side, from top to bottom: down, right, gnd, up, left, orange (latch), yellow (data), red (clock).
On the right side, from top to bottom: brown (gnd), select, start, B, turbo, A, gnd, white (+5V)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well the traces are right on the chip, but im not too sure about where your wires are going. the clock/data/latch should be wired to the NOAC, it looks like u connected to a nintendo controller?G-force wrote:For some reason I can't get my hacked controller chip to work, could someone tell me if I have it wired right?

I removed the plug from an NES controller, then I soldered the wires from the plug onto the NOAC controller (as shown in the pic). This way I could test it on my NES.
Maybe I should try it on the NOAC instead of the NES. This should work though....
Thanks for confirming the traces
At least I got that right.

hey nesfan, and anyone else who can't get their hipgear screen to work:
mine did the same thing as yours, and i realized that it's overheating
the idiots gave it a few too many volts
i plugged it into a selector ac adaptor, and could get it to run off of 7 or 9 volts fine, any lower and theres an annoying buzz in the audio.
why? i don't know. but once you hook it up to the nesp it should work perfectly fine!
good luck ^^

Hello,
I know this is a very old thread but...where can I get this 76000 chip at? Is there a website? And is there anyone who would make me one but in a Game Boy shell? I'm not good at wiring. Is there anyone who knows who made this: http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/16/nes- ... ontroller/ ?
Again I'm not good at wiring and all that stuff, is it really that hard? I would like both set-ups.

Lol, G-force made that (the guy who posted right above your name). You can get NOACs from eBay, and from thrift stores, flea markets places like that.
This is the thread G-force started for his NES mini:
