The mother board is stuck down with something, and I'm not too sure where the important parts are

It is probably stuck down with glue or epoxy. As for important things, ground yourself, don't touch traces, and don't break it. Also, please resize your avatar.

I found out what was getting it stuck: two screws on the cartridge slot,
and I resized the avatar.

leave it in, since the SMS requires no hacking to make it play anything else anyway so there is no point in trying to remove it.

Which model SMS are you using? I'm assuming it's not the original.

That's 1990. Unfortunately, we can't find Master System IIs around here in America. The SMS 1 is superior because of the card input, but you sure as hell cant make a portable out of it. I do have a Japanese SMS with the FM chip though.

Actually, an SMS 1 can be cut down (don't ask how), and in Jolly Old England there was a very nice adaptor that converted Cartridge Port to a Card Port on SMS2

Or you you could use a Game Gear with a Master Gear Converter. (Just a thought).
Dude, it's Duck Hunt.
