Too bad that was a japan-only thing. :( I guess americans would rather have the possibility of seeing color than seeing anything. But I think the GBC was much easier to see than the GBA.

I wonder if thats backlight brightness or screen contrast/brightness. I wouldnt mind both, but would choose the latter.

It's about the size of a cell phone. Would you loose a cell phone that way? You as a consumer have the responsibility of taking care of what you perchase...sheesh

Dear God Nintendo is making even more Gameboys than I thought they would! Yeah, maybe this is so you can play GBA SP without looking like a kid, or maybe it's to shore up more hardware sales. I know I'm always going off on the big N, but look at this:

2001 GBA
2003 GBA SP
2004 DS
2005 GBA SP E
2005 GBA Evolution

5 systems in as many years! Not even, the GBA came out 4 years ago this June. I'm telling ya'll, as long as people buy everything [portable] Nintendo makes it only encourages them to take baby steps (a la DS) and not really "go for it" with a portable as Sony seems to have.

Coming next year: Gameboy Micro Micro! It fits inside a tooth crown so if you get caught by spies you can take it out and play it in your cell (after the interrogation of course)

Seriously though, this endless hardware drive, "systems of the year" every year, dumping old systems in 4 years (Xbox?) tons of games that are all alike.... same stuff that crashed the industry back in '84.

Marketing angle:

“We’re making the gorgeous Game Boy Micro for image-conscious folks who love video games, the ones who want the look of their system to be as cool as the games they play on itâ€
