Illustrator is vector-based, object-oriented drawing, not painting (like Photoshop and the GIMP.)

I bought a PSone at Gamestop for $25 (after earning $5 for mowing the grass). No problems with it, but I'm confused here:

On the CD spindle (the black thing with the silver balls), there are 3 plastic tabs. One is broken, and another one broke just now. Are these vital, or can the balls safely hold the disc when the system is vertical? (I want to get a second (or third) opinion before I subject my CDs to potential danger.)

Parts aquired so far:
-aluminum for case
-psone
-memory card
-AV cable
-Intec screen

Parts still needed:
-intec screen (second one for 2 player w/o a TV)
-battery

I have 2 of the 3 things, I could always superglue it back on...

You're sure it wouldn't work? I really would hate to go back to GameStop.

Mine had that happen. I had no problem with it not working. As long as the balls are there it should hold the CD fine.

Yeah, it's got all those little balls. I'm still gonna glue that tab back on. (Stuff like that annoys me for some reason.)

Yep, as along as you have all three of your balls then you're good to go

Hmm, you must be a perfectionist. I'm a major perfectionist. It's made me throw away several portable cases just because they weren't perfect. It get pretty expensive....

The scale's WAY off. I did that freehand/flowchart template. I was just estimating the sizes, and as it turns out, the PSone is a LOT smaller than I thought it was! :D

I might do a "Plans Revision 2", where it's vertical. (It will "hold" like a PSX controller. A heavyu PSX controller.)

It seems as though my CD drive troubles are OK, so I'm almost set to go! :D (need to pick up another Intec screen. I already have one, but I want 2-player. ;) )

PSone is tiny, the mobo is even smaller, it would probably fit inside any console (why do you think I'm even making the PS-MS!)

i had an old playstaion and the same thing happend
when one of the plastic things broke the cd was not able to read because it was off balance,
and technically your system isnt broken just your laser spindle
and if i were you i would try to use as little glue as possible so your cd is not off level.
yep. thats how you do it.

*bump*

New Development!
****************

I bought another Intec screen the other day, and I'm going to take the sucker apart later this evening. (need to clean my desk first. :x)

I figured out how I'm going to wire this thing, for the most part.

Questions: what kind of life can I expect from a 1800mah RC battery?
What regulator brings the power down to the 7.5v the psone needs?
And how can I switch automatically between the internal screen and the external display (like Ben did with a VCSp)? I'm guessing a resistor?

7808 would get voltage down to 8v which will probably be fine
http://www.gameconsolerepair.com/GCR/ has replacement parts, including spindle hub
i've heard you can wire the video like this and have it work (you will probably need a switch to turn off internal):
