they are a tad taller, my case had to be destroyed because the expansion pak was a few mm too tall. the case was made to fit the jumper pak. lol, thats how i have current design. Josh.

The jumper pak can be cut down a lot, but the expansion can't.

as you can see, the expansion pack might have a harder time cooling of. if you open up an old computer power supply, it will probably have flat heatsinks that might work.

i really dont understand why no one uses the original n64 heatplate, not the large aluminum heat spreader, but the heatplate, with a cut down version of the large heatspreadder, its flatter, keeps it pretty cool, and gets good contact with the cpu, rcp main ram....

i don't know of any cooler other than the big heatsink unless your talking about the metal shield thing. the reason people use different heatsinks is because they're the right size and work well

basically, the heatplate mod turns out about the same size as the n64 board.. no bulky heatsinks produding up from the console taking up valuble space

If when mounted a heatsink isn't taller than the cut down jumper pack when it's in there's no extra size :P

Because then you just have heat surronding the parts, as well as above, which really sucks. When you have heat sinks, it moves the heat the fins.

ok i have n idea i am going to put the flat side of it on the expansion pack and the fin will have a gap between the ram and then i will have an internal fan cooling the whole thing (especially the rgulators)
