No progress yet, the GBA SP battery i ended up getting was dead, and didn't work. I'm planning to buy i AA-sized 3.7v battery. I did however get my charging circuit
here is the circuit i had planned:

I was going to frontlight 2 but the gameboy advance SP i got had a bad battery and frontlight, right now im waiting til' i can find another :/
