This is a topic for progress on a N64 portable commission I have started. I have everything else except for the CNC case, which I am just waiting for.
Just so you know, I am not using the original plug for the TV signal. I have a headphone jack wired up and a RCA connector plugged into that. The Video is dark but you can see whats going on. During the middle I turned the camera sideways so you could see both screens, and towards the end I turned on the portable's speakers. Progress Video

Entire Project Encased and Finished
This is a picture of Smash Bros. showing up on the 8" Portable screen I'm using. I need an expansion Pak though. Trade or donate??? Batteries wired together. 4 batteries/8 cells/7.4-8.0 Volts/8,000 mAh! That should last awhile. Speakers are pink because they were cheaper for some reason.
This is the design to scale:

More progress to come...

Case arrived today. Gonna work on that some. It looks awesome! Brushed Aluminum
Edit- I have been working all day on the portable and have made lots of progress. I could pretty much finish it today, but i think i will go for tomorrow, since i have stuff i need to do.
Gonna work on it today. Hopefully I can finish it by tomorrow, except for a regulator
Edit: problems! wrong regulator (someone told me wrong info) My dad broke a piece of the case (I am ordering another piece) etc.
OK, I need a regulator! I have asked a few people but i need a regulator to step 7.5V up to 12V. It should be simple too. Can anyone help me with a way to step 7.5V up to 12 for a screen???

Ok, yesterday was my b-day, and I got an iPod touch. With that, I can provide updates at my workbench and take pictures and all that stuff.
I got a battery PCB, so I will wire that to some batteries today, then I will have ~11.1V to power the screen and N64.
Ok, things have changed, I got a new regulator that will work. However, I haven't been able to work because we have been installing hardwood floors, and my house is a mess, and my desk isn't really even accessible. Today we are finishing, so I will be able to work more.
What are those speakers like on the inside? I have the same ones in green, but never bothered ripping them apart because the case isn't openable without destroying it.
Yeah, sorry about that. I stopped updating.
I freaking want to kill the screen (if that were possible) Nothing seems to make it work. I have ordered more than 4 regulators and none work except the latest one might. It makes a high pitched sound and obviously struggles with powering the screen. Then it just shuts off after about 10 seconds. I have been trying to fix it but nothing yet. Maybe if I got another and they worked together??? That might work. Ugh, more stuff to buy. If it werent for the screen I would have been done long ago.
BTW- the case isn't vacuum formed, its CNC cut.
I believe it not enough amps. It outputs 12V without a load (without being wired to he screen) but when wired to the screen, it makes a high pitched sound and then shut off. It even went down to only 7v when the n64 was wired to the batteries too.
