Also use it for getting paint off of stuff and heating up hot glue.

Bending plexiglass, heat shrink tubing, warming myself up in the winter. Heating up food is a good idea though!

Ah yes! Heat Shrink is a good use for it. Sometimes I just use a match or lighter as I cant be bothered to plug it in.

I also use it for removing hot glue and I used it once to remove epoxy off of an IC. Underneath is the pure chip, and once you heat it, it is ruined...

It is amazing, how they can layer and design a chip, that has millions and billions of transistors.
