lol, i wont pay that much for a nintendo 64 that doesnt generate much heat at all, also i read somewhere that toothpaste is better than arctic silver 5 at heat conductivity, but it dries and must be replaced very quickly. Josh.

Well, I have have access to much Arctic Silver, so I rely on it for all my thermal compound needs. D:

i found that by stripping away most of the supplied heatsink in the n64, that you can a) protect the board from soldering, stray wires and interference, b)and it also cools rather well
and gives easy way to bolt your console to anywhere in your case, it saves you the trouble of haivng to buy... anything..., becuase it has thermal contacts, lots of aluminum, and its designed specifally for your n64
