it went on sale for 1/4 the price of the cheapest ipad, it runs webOS (which is actually really nice) and people are working on porting android to it. protip: APPLE DID NOT INVENT THE TABLET FORMAT. now plz quit crapping on his FS thread kthx

lol. I know they didn't invent it, but they made it into what a tablet should have been from the start. It still has many annoying features (as Apple does), but my point is that I hate HP computers.

HP computers have nothing to do with the HP touchpad tho It runs WebOS, so its more closely related to the palm/HP cellphones than to HP computers. your argument is invalid

Man when did this happen? I'm pretty happy with my Archos 101 but I would have been persuaded to try webOS at that price.

August 20th. I know because I work in retail and these buggers were a huge hassle that day. The $99 ones were gone before I got in that morning, but the $149 version was a bit trickier (Internet orders weren't going through). We did sell them all though that day, which hasn't stopped the calls from people who just heard.

We put a limit of 1 per customer on in-store sales, but I don't think many others had the foresight to do so.

It was a bit like Black Friday between the deals, the degree of interest, and the stunning sense of entitlement that people often have.

WebOS is pretty nice too. i've got it on my palm pixi. unfortunately i live in a vast empty 3g wasteland so i can scarcely take advantage of the majority of the features the phone has stupid sprint and their lack of 3g in affiliate markets
