Problems with Modretro?

Post by Trollman »

I know I said this last week, but Modretro is having problems again. Instead of getting a server error like last week, I was told by my ISP that the domain does not exist. Anyone have an idea of what is causing this?

Besides a domain upgrade causing a few crashes and chat issues, we are possibly being attacked by members of another forum. (Not BenHeck.)

We are switching severs and all that, no, we didn't get "attacked" or whatever. We are trying to get the database or whatever back in order so we don't lose like, 3 days worth of posts and info.

Might not be the reason, but Palmer says we are :P

Well the forums were back up for me, but not some other users, and now there is a 404 error.

There are no "attacks".

Anyone who says there are is just trying to cause trouble.

90% of the problems these past few days have been related to moving servers, we were not under any l33t haxx. At the same time, we have received several pitiful attempts at a DDoS attack, but the people hitting us do not seem to understand that it takes a lot to bring down a server, more than a few computers. We have also been getting the same "maxed out login attempts" messages, so someone is trying to get into our admin accounts. No idea who, though.

And if anyone says I am "just trying to cause trouble" by letting people know about legitimate attacks on our forum, they should try to see it from my view. Yes, we have gotten some "attacks", they just have nothing to do with our recent downtime.
