I have decided I really really want a PS2 laptop. I want the system to be self contained, but still plug into the wall. I say this because trying to have batteries would be
utterly ridiculous, because I want decent speakers but most of all I want a pretty big screen, which will suck up a bunch of power. I also don't want this to just be a screen jerryrigged to a PS2, but what looks like a legit laptop in a custom case with a very large screen. Would also like it to come either modded ready for homebrew.
I would like to know:
#1. Is this even possible?
#2. How much would it cost? I know it wont cost more than $500, because Bush told me that he could make a self-contained for that price. So what would the price be?
Thanks, all. I really appreciate it.
I have a question.

Re: I have a question.
what do you mean by self contained?
And if you want it homebrew ready it would have to be made from a fat ps2, which would mean a chunkier laptop.
A price people will probably give you is around $750 give or take depending on the person.

Re: I have a question.
By self contained, I mean that the only wire that it requires is to be plugged into the wall (meaning no other wires, and I want it to still have the power cord because I don't want to spend the money on batteries that are just gonna run out powering the bigger screen size that I want.) And if I didnt want it homebrew ready could it be made from a PS2 slim, meaning a thinner laptop? Also, why does it cost so much more than the handheld that bush offered to make me?
Thanks for your help

Re: I have a question.
because large screens = large amounts of money. custom built cases = large amounts of time invested, and some people value their time
why not just buy a PS2 slim and an attachable LCD? or do you want the controls (or a keyboard or what) built in?
frankly i really dont see the point in laptop versions of any system older than xbox360/ps3/maybe wii. but that is just my personal opinion

Re: I have a question.
Most slims are homebrew ready, too...
I also see no point in laptop portables. Especially with a PS2 where you can trim next to nothing off the motherboard.
I suggest to do as Triton suggested and slap a screen on it.

Re: I have a question.
I guess if you must have a ps2 laptop, i have s ps2 slim model SCPH-7701 which could be made homebrew ready using the disk swap method ( http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/swap.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) i believe.
PM me if you're interested, ive never made a ps2 laptop but it cant be that difficult.
