Gutting a PS1 controller for parts for a PS2 controller

i recently found a PS2 controller for €0,25 and the shoulder buttons were missing,is it possible to gut a PS1 controller and use parts of that controller for the PS2 controller?

I've never owned any Playstation, let alone take one apart, but I'm sure you could use some of the parts. Maybe the shoulder buttons, if they fit. Probably the switches. Again, I've never owned a Playstation, so I might be wrong.

Yes it is and it will fit trust me. They are the same thing pretty much.
