I would desperately LOVE to see this enforced. There are so many table-stretching avatars on here, and I'm stuck with a tiny screen. 150px is a nice width, stuff can be scaled to it. It would just be awesome to not have to scroll sideways to read through every damn thread.Rules wrote:8. Signature and avatar sizes. Please consider others' computers when creating avatars and signatures. (Not everyone is lucky enough to have a 1920x1080 resolution monitor and a fiber-optic internet connection.) Try to keep avatars lower than about 150px by 150px and signatures under 450px by 200px. Think of the 56K!

Re: Avatar/Signature sizes
My avatars are usually larger than 150px, but my gratuitously long username stretches the tables more than it. That's been my guideline: don't make it any worse.
Obviously, this isn't applicable to everyone, but that's my rationalization of my larger avatar.

Re: Avatar/Signature sizes
Yours isn't that bad. There are some well over 200px, though, and that bites big apples when trying to surf on an Acer netbook.

I am on an Acer netbook myself, so I certainly agree with your concern.

Re: Avatar/Signature sizes
If you point out which ones are problematic and let us know via PM, we can do something about it. Beyond that, even if we could restrict the width automatically somehow, 'ketchup brings up a good point in that his avatar is not making it worse.

Re: Avatar/Signature sizes
yeah this really needs to be enforced with an auto-resize script.
150x150 MAXIMUM. this is starting to get out of hand. i see some that break 250px wide and over 300px high.

I agree, I'm on an MSI Wind, and I've had to scroll around because of ridiculous signatures.Tibia wrote:Yours isn't that bad. There are some well over 200px, though, and that bites big apples when trying to surf on an Acer netbook.
