Well, SS finished my board yesterday, and Nobble shipped my batteries. All I need now is an expansion pack and some copper for heatsinking. Expect progress soon!!

I need opinions. I made a heat dissapator for the main chips, using some loose metal from a modem case. I cut the pieces, then stacked them to 3 ply, and soldered them together. Its either steel or aluminum, and has little holes all over. I need some opinions on this. With some thermal paste, do you think it will do a good job?

The idea of a heatsink is that it has a flat surface with a large area for maximum heat transfer from the chip to the sink. Not really sure what those are going to accomplish in particular, besides maybe winning some modern art show or something. The N64's chips get pretty damn hot, and you'll need to get the hot air away from them with fans/ventilation on top of using some real heatsinks.

Good luck.

Ok, I have an issue. The batteries are a tad too long, so I have a few options. I can order another case and attempt to widen it by using parts from my original case, or I can find a new case with dimensions around 6.5x4x1in. I have yet to find one, so I am willing to sell these; they are 6400 mAh. Let me know if you are interested.

Could you post a pic of your batteries? Personally if the batteries are more then 6" long its not worth it, I would pay a visit to batteryspace and find some better ones.

Don't you De-solder?!

It looks as if you have just bent the Cartridge slot back and forth, as with the Controller Ports to 'snap' them off!

And if you want your N64 to overheat - your going to right way

You may want to buy some Heatsinks with FINS that will actually Dissipate the heat...

lol thats how i get my controller port's off xD
bend and snap, or just chop them off with a dremel. most people remove the extra space anyway
