Hello, today, i got out my old Sega Megadrive
when i started playing it, after a while, the screen sarted flashing,to the point of unplayabilitie, the screen fades to grey bars for about 2 seconds, then returns to the normal screen, and then it started all over again
anyone knows what is up with the MD? is it broken? or maybe some bad solder point at the rf output?
hmmmm try cleaning the inside of the system and making sure all the capacitors r standing up straight.... if u do that and this still happens its has to be the cord
So im a new guy lol....
My first portable will be complete b4 the end of august (hopefully lol)

ok ill do that then
Im making a RGB-lead too,so if it happens then i know the system is effed

why would that make a difference? that's how the caps look in every genesis i've ever opened. and they all work wonderfully. as long as the legs aren't broken, there is no problem to if they are straight or not.
look over the board and make sure you don't see any corrosion around any of the caps. you mentioned you heard a popping sound? you may just want to try replacing all the caps if you can't see anything wrong.

it was probably a bad connection. did you heat up the solder points to get them upright? in doing so, you probably fixed the connection.
if caps had to be standing perfectly upright at all times, then making portables the ways we do wouldn't work. since many often relocate them and have them laying down. i'm just saying.
