the ds rumble pak i ordered a long time ago did not come white as i requested. and i wanted it to match my ds. so, i put the guts of the rumble pak into the stock dummy cart the ds came with. had to do some cutting, extending of wires, and rearranging.

Wait, they're supposed to match? lol

Nice work. :)

actually did this a little while ago, but just remembered about it.

just a simple repaint job. the original colors of the zapper are pretty gross... this was the orange zapper.

Made from finished 1"x8" pine (actualy 3/4"x 7-1/4", but oh well!). The inside height is 12", with adjustable shelving every inch. For the shelves themselves (rhyme lol), I'm using some plastic I bought for vacuum forming, and just cut the depth down. Each shelf is about 11.5" wide, because they're not exactly 12" across, and part is in the wood.

It's really easy to make, you can have it done easily in 2 hours.

When you want to get down and boogy you gotta have a disco ball. I had a desktop disco ball that ran off of batteries that a friend gave me for my birthday. Well I am not wasting 3 AA's on a freaking disco ball so it sat in my closet till now. So I turned a battery powered disco ball turned into USB power 70's party machine!

Time 3 minutes, 2 solder joints, 2 stripped wires. Piece of pie.

Get down tonight!

That's really nifty.

What regulator is it? Or would any 5v regulator work?

I'm so gonna make one.

I took two pieces of plastic and engraved them with my Dremel. They each have one frame of Mario running. I overlaid them and used a 555 to flash them back and forth. For the plastic, I used a jewel CD case.

Got a free 50" rear projection tv. Was missing blue, fixed a crack in the filament PS pcb. Installled new convergence amps.

Before

Image

The two heatsinked chips are the convergence amps. If you look in the picture below, the red and blue tubes are set at an angle. This means that the image is skewed, and has to be corrected before it's displayed to line up correctly with the other color channels. In ancient TVs this was all an analog circuit, however after the early-mid '90s manufacturers switched to digital DSP-based convergence logic. The settings are stored in an eeprom. The amps take the low level analog signal and amplify it to correct the deflection in the crts.

Three crts that shoot up and reflect off a mirror in the cabinet

GG cap replacement

Still having a problem where if the brightness is turned up high when turned on the GG will power on for a sec then shutoff. If you turn down the brightness and turn it on it powers up and then you have to wait about 10 secs before turning brightness up. This was happening before cap replacement.

Better yet, re-case the GG, add internal li-po batteries, replace dpad, build tv output board and add a 3.25 inch lcd screen!

Instructions for tv board here.

http://users.tpg.com.au/vile88/ggtv/ggtv.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

However I did some quick searches for the bh7236af IC and couldn't find any :(

good idea in theory. but you'd want a larger screen, since when doing the tv board, the picture only displays in the middle half of the screen:

however, i have the ultimate game gear about 1/2 way done. recased, 5" screen, stereo sound, & sms converter hardwired on:

besides, this project is so not an afternoon project. lol!
