I had wanted to use the pair of cell phone batterys. I have an external charger for them but at only 3.5v and 700 mAh it might not be worth it. I know all to well about the RC car style batterys. A bit big for me thow. How long would 4 9 volt batterys last?

Sorry for the lack of updates. Life got in the way. I will be back on track shortly. I havent located a nintendo for a decent price by me. Still want to go to the antique toy store out here called the land of ooz and oz. I know the mall by me has those noac. Might as well just pick one of them up. I also came into possesion of a photo frame but there is no input(that means i cant use it right?)

Yeah no input can't use it. I bought a yobo nes clone for not much. It works good but I prefer the original nes better. I had the same problem looking for a nintendo in somwhat good condtion in my area and I was lucky to find one with a bunch of games but still it was hard to find. That antique store sounds very interesting.

Thanks. Yeah i have been in there before. I had purchased a atari jr in there years back so i know atleast theres a chance. They have a whole wall of atari games from cheap one to expensive ones. Alot of other cool old and retro toys and electronics. Even i life size tales from the crypt crypt keeper guy. They even have the semi old toys like creepy crawlers and stuff like that. So much fun looking around in there but there store hours suck.

Dude that sounds sweet but kinda sounds like the elusive fea market that is open on Saturdays and Sundays only. And I work on Saturdays and Sundays .....I am still angry about it but I tried to get my brother to go but he kept making excuses. I don't know why but good stores like that are barely open. Anyways sorry to off subject. What noac did you decide to go with?

So i havent really done much with this project but i got a little bit further. Never bought the noac there is one for sale at the mall. The n64 controller one. probably just gonna pick that one up. I did however do the leds in the lcd. I wanna try it but dont know where a 5v connection is. I also bought a 4 aa battery pack. Hopefully 4 is enouph. Probably on this ribbon cable.

So today i picked up a NOAC. i believe its one of those superjoys every talks about. It was 25 plus tax.

I was playing around with it for a bit. I think they cheated with the 76000 games lol. Noitced a lot of doubles in the list. Do i still have to make the vido amplifier with an NOAC? It also came with a battery pack wich means i can put 8 AAs in.

Wasted no time diassembling it.

already hit a problem. Its my own fault but i cant figure out wich plug from the tv is the AV in.

EDIT: im gonna try and plug everything in and use one of those 3.5 to rca connectors to see if the stuff will work.
EDIT2:still cant find the 5v for the LEDs.

Ok. i tried connecting the LEDs directly to the batterys. they go on very dimmly so obviously that wont work. the tv does work when i turn it on i hear the noise from the tv. When i plug in the 3.5 jack the noise goes away now i dont know if i still have to set anything up or its suppost to just work. i couldnt get any sound or anything of the games. i thought maybe i fried the superjoy. So i reassembled it and it still works.

EDIT: maybe i purchased the wrong LEDs? When i was at radio shack they had 2 kinds of white LEDs cheap ones and expensive ones. I purchased the cheap ones.

Not sure if anyones paying attention but i purchased the 7805 regulator. Can i connect it to the battery pack and then connect the LEDs to that?

if your batteries add up to more than 6v, you will be fine with that idea. Just make sure to use the proper resistors for the leds.

I used the 33kohms like u said much earlier on in the thread. I currently have 4 AAs connected. im just trying to get the tv itself to work. so the superjoy isnt hooked up. I figure if i can get the tv working again first it would help with other trouble shooting later on. I tried the regulator but im still getting very dull light out of the LEDs.
