Re: Batteries? N64 PORTABLE
Just look at one piece at a time. It's pretty simple as far as wiring diagrams go.Mosquito wrote:Seems pretty hard to follow in my opinion.. :sbudnespid wrote:With help from the forums it shouldn't be that hard. This is a complete wiring diagram. It shouldn't be that hard to follow.

Well, I guess I understand it but just some spots in it are just confusing. I guess I'm pretty amateur. For example whats the board in the bottom right? Is that the top of the N64? And like see in the middle top those three wires just go off an I have no idea where they go to.nevermind1534 wrote:Just look at one piece at a time. Look we're not going to hold your hand through the whole thing. It's DIY for a reason.
Just study the n64 stickies, and the diagram, take a shot and we'll tell you whether you are right or not. Take some stuff apart like a controller or the n64 and the diagram will be come clear.

I believe the bottom right that you are referring to is the controller and the three wires should be labeled respectively.Mosquito wrote:Well, I guess I understand it but just some spots in it are just confusing. Re: Batteries? N64 PORTABLE
For 2 hours of battery life with a PSone screen, I'd say about 3500mAh or higher.
On a scale of 1 to 10, a basic N64p is probably like a 3.5 or 4. Not difficult at all.
Just wire video and power, and you're halfway done. That's only 10 wires if you do it right.
Than just heatsink and wire controls. Relocate the cart slot, too. That's even easier.

So how do people actually "fry" their N64? Overheating?hailrazer wrote:LOLBasement_Modder wrote: On a scale of 1 to 10, a basic N64p is probably like a 3.5 or 4. Not difficult at all.

Also, which one of these wiring diagrams is correct and which one is mirrored. Bacteria's (http://moddedbybacteria.files.wordpress ... guide1.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) says that on the PSone screen that's the headphone contacts are on the left, while Harshboy's (http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?t=14556" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) says they are on the right. So, uhh... Which one is mirrored I guess I'm going to say?

Re: Batteries? N64 PORTABLE
No mostly wiring the 12v and 3.3v line wrong. Also a LOT of people mess up the cart slot relocation which can fry one. And the expansion pak relocation causes a LOT of bad N64's.Mosquito wrote:

Re: Batteries? N64 PORTABLE
Let me specify: a basic N64p is a 3.5 or 4/10.
As in: no expansion pak relocating, PSone screen, no trimming, etc.
The other crap is still pretty easy, just time consuming.
