Cartidge Slot Relocation Problems
So last night I was bored and since I'm waiting until I'm in Cali to work on my SNES portable I thought I'd try to relocate the N64 Cartridge slot for a future portable. Lo and behold it didn't work... so I De-soldered it all and tried again ... failure. This is the 5th time I've tried to relocate a cartridge slot and failed and I think I must be doing something wrong. What kind of wire do most of you guys use when relocating the cartridge slot? Also how long is each wire? I'm so determined for this to work, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Maybe you just fried the board already, or it's in sleep mode.

Make sure you are soldering to the pins outside where you pulled the cartridge slot out of:
Solder the connections in blue to their corresponding spots highlighted in red.

Thank you very much for your reply. That was my problem, I have it working now and I'll probably use this board for a future project.

Glad to hear. The expansion port on the bottom uses the same exact pins as the cartridge slot. While the expansion port is soldered in, the cartridge slot only makes contact inside the expansion port.Schmeman wrote:Thank you very much for your reply.
