Man I wish you'd just sell the case... :gonk:
I'm not doing xbox, and I already have a nice 720p 15" lcd to use, UGH.
Maybe in a few weeks if no one buys the lot you'll be willing to talk again?

First, 12V x 6A = 72W. So of course the only 12V 6A supplies you could find were ~70w...rbz wrote:Yeah I have but every adapter I find that outputs 12V 6A only outputs ~70W
the xbox original uses around ~110W :/
Where did you get your adapter from?
Second, I think he ended up using this:

Anyway, I've been reading this thread for a while, but haven't posted. Looking good so far!
(edit: I guess I did post...
)Did you ever sort out the weird grounding issue? Or is that partly why you're abandoning it?

Fight MS Paint abominations! If you don't have a camera, go here, and pick something 3 megapixels or higher.

Yes the grounding issue is part of it. That isn't the PSU I used. I think I used the one of ebay.

What is the grounding issue exactly?

Re: xBook Worklog (Now Powered via PicoPSU!!)
Basically I found that if I have the two PSU next to each other (one for the screen one powering the picoPSU) that a lot of interfearence appears on the monitor.
If I seperate them (as far as humanly possible) the interfearence diminishes significantly. This should improve if you use just one PSU

Re: xBook Worklog (Now Powered via PicoPSU!!)
perhaps eliminating one of the PSUs would resolve the issue. If memory serves me correctly, you didn't have the Amp to run both off of one PSU.
you are at 7 A on a 12 V line... maybe try this
http://www.mini-box.com/110w-12v-8-5A-A ... er-Adapter" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and get 8.5 A on the 12 line... that should give you the extra breathing room to hit those magic numbers... and it's less than $40.00 to try out.
or for a few bucks more
http://www.mini-box.com/12v-12-5A-AC-DC-Power-Adapter" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
get 12.5 A on a 12 V line.. that should hopefully get this project finished, eliminate your need for a 2nd power supply, and correct the video issue for less than $50 bucks.

Re: xBook Worklog (Now Powered via PicoPSU!!)
Yeah I might do that... unless I sell the project of course.
But now I'm thinking my problem is that power supply (besides the fact that I'm under amperage)
I used that 6amp PSU to power a wii + 7" LCD screen and had a similar issue were the screen would lose the signal or something. Very similar if no the exact problem the xbox is having...

Re: xBook Worklog (Now Powered via PicoPSU!!)
Okay... nobody wants to really buy it
So I'm gonna keep going...
I'm going to save up and get this power supply
http://www.mini-box.com/110w-12v-8-5A-A ... er-Adapter" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
since I think that the 6amp one is probably just some hong kong fooey since it made the same thing happen to my wii project.
And since I've finished the Sega project that's once less thing to distract me...
edit: ugggh
I just noticed that they are out of stock
