Its an unofficial,mircoboss,40MB(600 slots) memory card,it got a digital counter on the front

the lights do come on,but the PSX doesnt recognize it

i am willing to make a vid to elaborate on the problem

try the memory card on another ps1/ps2, and try different memory cards on your current ps1

It is depend on you operating system which you use. You should be using something with direct hardware access like DOS 6.0 or other. You may not get predictable results with Windows XP and also any other emulation package because hardware timing is not accurate enough.

I have a memory card like that. It sometimes will not work for unknown reasons...

1) Buy an OFFICIAL and ORIGINAL GREY Sony Playstation 1 Memory Card off of eBay.
2) Keep trying a few times as I did. Mine however is screwed...

I can not explain (in technical terms), WHY it does this - but I would suspect because it is possible cheep in parts and the PS1 / PSone does not recognize it / like it.

Pointless answer as I dont know what causes this - but maybe also let the 'static' in the IC fade for a day or so. (Much like a static cloth, or taking a shirt out of the drier. Again, I am thinking outside the box - but electronics do work that way)

Thanks
