RRoD at start up.
I'm using an Arcade jasper for a portable project. So far all I've done is open the xbox, unplug everything and desoldered the USB ports from the front of the MB. When the xbox is reconnected I get 3 red lights immediately. I spent some time looking around online but all I can find are RRoD problems after the system has been running for awhile. The power brick's LED flashes green for less than a second before going back to yellow and the RRoD lights up. I tried a different power brick but it does the same thing. I'm worried that I might have fried something while desoldering, since the ground pins for the USB where a pain to remove. Has anyone had a similar problem that they were able to fix?

Alright, so I got past the RRoD. I de soldered the hard drive jack and extented it with ribbon cables. Now when the xbox turns on, it randomly reboots itself while in the dashboard screen. Any ideas?
Re: RRoD at start up.
Im doing a 360 portable with a jasper too I know its the 0001 error i had it when i first had desoldered the power plug there should be two fuses by the power plug check if there still there, the 360 is rhos so bend away (not too hard tho), did you rip any of the pins out while desoldering if you do theres no way to fix it hope you were careful,, but post some pics of the motherboard, all ports desoldered. If you havnt removed the power port(I know its hell) or at at least tried to remove it theres a chance that while you were desoldering it solder will just fall through into the port same thing happend to me just remove it..NEED PICS

Oh just make sure your 5v is properly soldered same thing havvend to me make sure your using heavy gauge wire the 5v on the hdd port needs 500ma
with the hdd if you didnt solder the data pins right itll just stall with no video
itll restart its self if theres no 5v gettin to it

Re: RRoD at start up.
I guess there was a cold solder joint or something. I desoldered it, then resoldered it. The rebooting went away, but now when I have the HDD connected it goes to an E68 error. Runs fine without the HDD. I'm checking the pins again...
Re: RRoD at start up.
well I looked at the guide, It cant be a power problem you just fixed it !!, check the data pins that has to be it since the 360 actually read the hdd.. a simple situation occured with me it was just that one of my soldered joints broke..good luck
