Does this stick mod look legit?

If you can use any, why don't you just use a gamecube controller instead of a weird N64 controller?

Don't worry about that yet. I'm still doing some research and playing with code, I think I found some that will help. I'm gonna be trying this out soon. If I get something working then we can negotiate, if there's enough interest in it, I can even order more parts and possibly sell a pre-built board.

Been messing around with the ADC inside a PIC16F873 and I got a very simple program to run on it that converts the voltage output from a analog control stick to a binary value. The chip I'm using is quite large and has more stuff in it than required, but it's what I have to play with at the moment and I'll eventually I'll be modifying the code to work with smaller PIC's, once I get a hold of some. Here's a video, I will also be posting this on my 64p WIP thread.

one of the chips they showed on there could work except for the fact that the GP3/MCLR/Vpp pin is only an input without AD capabilities and you need 4 outputs total to go to the controller chip. :(

The next step up from there are 14 pin devices and the one I'm leaning towards using is a 16F526.
