They shouldn't be allowed to call it unlimited when it really isn't.

It is unlimited. It's just not unlimited free. "5GB Cap" isn't really the correct term, because it won't stop downloading once you hit 5GB. Just like you have unlimited texting on any phone, but they'll charge you for each one. So you're buying into an unlimited data plan... with 5GB free. Misleading, but it's a concept thats used in a lot of businesses today.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

My texting is unlimited, completely unlimited. I pay $30 for 4 phones with unlimited texting ($30 for the texting alone, not the whole service lol) and that's it. No more charges, ever.
I think that what people need to see with the ipad is this: When the iphone came out, it was very successful, being a smartphone etc., but it did not back on the success of the app store. Now with the ipad coming out and being similar to the iphone and ipod touch, it is banking off of the current app selection at the beginning to get it going, and then after that it's the kind of apps released for it that will make it a success. It's not a phone, and it's not designated to be an iphone, so already it's suspected usage is somewhat undefined, and what's going to make it worth buying are all the killer apps that will be coming out at launch and soon after.
I think before people say it's crap they need to give it a chance and see what's gonna be on the thing besides current apps and the ones from the keynote.

He meant that without an unlimited texting plan, you can still text all you want. It'll just cost you $.10 a piece. Data plans are the same, except they give you 5GB "free", and you have to pay for the rest if you go over.snowpenguin wrote:My texting is unlimited, completely unlimited. If I ever get a device with a capped data plan, I will use 4.99GB of bandwidth every month. I will spend the last day or two of every month (depending on the speed and how much bandwidth I have left) downloading random stuff, just to stick it to the man and use my "share" to the fullest.
