Anyone seen the gamertags that have the xbox 360 button images in their gamertags while playing Modern Warefare 2 recently, I saw it awhile back but I thought it was patched....
It thoroughly pisses me off because it takes up the whole damn screen most of the time, and i am curious as to how it is done if anyone knows.
From what I see various other places online they somewhow get thier profile off their 360 and mod it with hex editors and then somehow get that profile back on thier xbox or microsoft servers or something. I am simply curious as to how its done if anyone knows. I dont want too many details because I dont want to do it and I dont want to see more people doing it. Just a 60,000 ft view or basic explaintion would be awesome. Thanks

Re: Buttons in Xbox 360 gamertag
I do it all the time. All you need to do is hook up the Xbox 360 Hard Drive to your computer, copy over your profile data on partition 3, load it up in a program called Easy Gamertag Editor 2.2, make the edits, and save a new profile.
Copy that profile to partition 3 also and load up MW2. Sign out of any profile you are in and sign into the hacked profile. Then go to Multiplayer and press A on Xbox Live. It will say you can't go online with that profile and will automatically pop up the profile selection screen. Choose your normal Xbox Live profile and now press A on Xbox Live. You will now see your hacked Gamertag in lobbies and in-game.
I like changing my name to my friend's names so that people in lobbies go nuts and try to figure out how there are two of the same person in the game. I also like using words that Xbox doesn't allow in Gamertags. You can also use the Buttons and change the color of the Gamertag.
Fun stuff, sorry it pisses you off

Okay see well you have a different spin on it, that stuff is just plain funny not taking up the whole screen and annoying.
I myself have a modded 120GB hard drive (replaced my 20GB myself for 1/3 the price) but other than that... dosent Microsoft ever check for this stuff and ban people? Technically I think its a violation of the EULA, never run into this problem?

I don't know how they could really tell that you have the modded Gamertag seeing as if you check my profile in game, it shows as Harshboy666 and not whatever it shows in-game.rcullan wrote:I myself have a modded 120GB hard drive (replaced my 20GB myself for 1/3 the price) but other than that... dosent Microsoft ever check for this stuff and ban people? Just the other day I went online with my flashed 360 and I didn't get banned (LT Firmware). I have 4 Xbox 360's so I don't really care if they ban one of my consoles. Keyvaults only cost like $40 too so I can just unban it anyway.
I'm currently in the process of jtag'ing my one 360 on the 7371 Kernel. I will probably host a few MW2 Modded XP lobbies on it until it gets banned, then I'll just use it for homebrew.

The Hard drive hack is simple. Just buy a compatible 2.5" WD HDD and connect it to your PC. Run a program called hddhackr and "spoof" it to the ones Microsoft uses.samjc3 wrote:can you do that without softmodding or anything?
120GB Hard Drive
250GB Hard Drive Same price as the 120GB for some reason...you should buy this one.
The Gamertag mods also work in CoD4 and CoD:WaW last time I checked.
