oh right, I forgot about amperage, you should just run it straight off the battery then, if it's not >12V

Yup, the specs say it takes 12v dc so that's probably the max.

I've been messing around with screen #3 and playing OoT on it and in the fire temple and at night I can't see anything. I want to experiment with some of the resistors on the board and maybe find one for the contrast and put a pot in parallel with it. So I have 2 questions

Can I fry the screen by bridging random fuses on the board when it's running on 3v?

And would using a POT in parallel with a resistor be the same as 2 resistors, but variable?

I'd love to have adjustable contrast on this screen. (trying to walk around in front of gannons castle is a nightmare  )

1) Yes. It is possible to fry it, although not that likely.
2) It's the same as having two resistors in parallel

This seller on ebay (business-sun) has two models of 3.5" screen with brightness adjustment (not sure about contrast). One of the screens is the model you're dealing with (#3) and one is a different model that I haven't seen.

not to mention 4.3" and 7" lcds on the cheap.

I COULD HAVE JUST BOUGHT THAT!

Oh well, I supposed I could buy that one too. I was planning on buying a second 3.5" screen since they're so convenient. I think I'd rather buy that one then risk frying my screen.

Haha no problem. Let us know how it works out! I'm not sure i fully understand what the other button does... :? But it's certainly a good deal.

I "think" it flips the image for a backup camera.

Switch between 2 signals probably. Normally it automatically finds the signal, but when there are 2 signals at the same time you could switch between them,

Just ordered one. Hopefully it will work out well :) Strange that it's the same price as the model without the buttons but it's worth a test. :D

My #3 arrived. It's different.

It has some problems (this is pal) - the image is moved a bit to the left, thus cutting off some of it. Nothing too horrible, but kind of irritating. Two tact switches - one mirrors the image, the other one makes it brighter.

Awesome. I ordered the no. 3 as well, but I'm still waiting on the shipping from China.

Flips the image, huh? That'd make Mario 3 a challenge... might be a fun competition. Hope mine's got that.

I bought #1 from this seller for the nomad mod and I think it is DOA. It didn't come with the power cord or instructions, which we really dont need for what we use these screens for, but it would have been nice to know for testing purposes if it was working when I got it or not.

Im getting nothing on the screen so maybe I just wired something up wrong on the power side of things, or bad surface mount soldering (oh how I hate surface mount soldering), I'll have to try it on a different system just to see. Has anybody done any troubleshooting on any of these screens, maybe a fuse to jump or replace? LCD cable looks good, no rips or nothing (just pretty long haha)

Wrong thread. This is a review thread for 3.5" screens.
