2.5" is EXTREMELY small... Like ipod sized or smaller. If you want to be able to see anything, I would definitely recommend a 3.5" screen. Hailrazer posted a great guide on your options for 3.5".

n64's are easy to get. pm jleemero.

bondo is easy to get too, though twopart epoxy is generally bette. (hail, get awn in heer!)

depends. if you want this to be the smallest ever, you are looking at roughly 13, maybe 14 out of 10. if you go the standard ZN-45 n64p route, probably a 5 or a 6. it also depends on how you want it to look.

It will be a fairly difficult project. Mine is in progress and from experience i can assure you that you will probably break something of value (n64 mobo, screen, battery, etc.). Don't get discouraged. Psone screen is probably a good idea considering that getting a smaller screen doesn't decrease the size of the portable. A portable's size is entirely dependent on the size of the n64 motherboard (about 6.5" by 5"). Unless you think you can reduce the board size (must be very experienced with rerouting traces and microsoldering) you cannot make a portable smaller than that. Good luck.

Yea bondo is only for the top coat to fill minor pinholes and surface low spots.

Two part plastic epoxy is the best , with other epoxies like mighty putty being second best.

I always "weld" together the plastic with black Abs cement first. Makes a permanent bond because it "melts" the plastics together. Then I use a bumper filler epoxy to fill in the large gaps. Then if absolutely necessary I use some bondo spot putty to finish off problem areas.

ok well i already have my 64 bkoken down into pieces and while i have wery little experience soldering traces i know what im doing. and i dont want bondo for anything but the case because i was told by someone else it could be used to raise surfaces to make the case kinda look like it belongs. im not using a premade case or a clear case.im going full on custom built, but i already have a pretty good idea about what its goin to look like, but that too will probably change. i need the site for cheap nintendo parts for just in case i cut a controller board the wrong way, or anything like that

I'm down to 4.5" X 5.25" without rcp wiring, the only things I've rewired are ground, video, power, and controller.

Trying to make the smallest n64p in the world with no experience is retarded.

And also, killercottontail, a psone screen would not fit on the n64p I'm making, it's too big. 3.5" is a good size for small n64ps.

i have not yet seen a psone screen but i think youmay be right. i might consider making mine a folding screen and using a psp analog stick, but the whole thing is changing in my mind as everyone gives me their input. oh and snowpenguin, you may think im retarded but im not the average 15 year old idiot, i have experience with most things electronic and i know wut im doing ive just never made an actual portable before

Explain to me how knowing how to operate an iPhone or other electronic device makes you know what you're doing in modding, and how you know what you're doing with no experience to back it up?

no i have no experience portablizing, or modding game systems, other than handhelds. i do have a lot of experience building things though and when i said i had a lot of experience with electronics i meant taking them apart without breaking them, and then either modding them to look different or do something else they werent sposed to. how many people do you know who turned an 8 track car radio into a home system

347, to be exact.

Anyways, start off with something easier. SS made, what, 10 n64ps and then made the smallest, and it failed soon thereafter. You are likely to have similar results without making any portables in the past at all.

just try and focus on making one for now, and it should be easy and simple. once you have it down, go make a better one. Continue until you make your own website, calling it MawdRutru.com
