wait, a soldering gun or soldering iron? a soldering gun is just about impossible to use for this.(or so I've heard)

Yeah my parents bought me a soldering gun for Christmas. It's too powerful and the tip is not ideal for this type of work. A cheap soldering iron works just fine.

Zenith screen should be fine.. It is the EXACT same as a psone screen. And IMO it looks way cooler . Not sure what you mean about the killswitch...

A power surge would likely only reset the AC adaptor. Wait 3 days and try the N64 again. It will probably work.

Also, samjc3 lied to you. You only need a spdt switch for the player one jack, to switch the data line. (middle pin/ white wire on controller cable)

Ok, this is how you led mod a psone screen (assuming you've already taken the screen from its case) you will need 4x 3mm leds (nothing bigger will fit) and a 10 ohm resistor:
1. flip the screen over and open the locking flap that holds the ribbon cable to the board
2. using a flat head screw driver or exacto blade, pry up the metal surround of the screen untill it is free from all the hooks
3. remove the lcd and place it on something soft
4. do the same thing to the light box (the white box that the lcd was resting on) as you did to the metal surround and pry up the edges untill it pops free (there is some white tape like substance acting as a hindge so don't remove it)
5. there will be to sheets of paper on top that kind of look like wax paper, remove them and set them aside for now
6. remove the sheet of glass (and remember which side faces up, I recommend a sticky note) and try not to muk it up woth finger prints
7. remove the light (its shaped in a "U" shape with two wires leading out of the light box
8. now remove the glossy piece of paper on the bottom
9. now cut 4 tiny little holes in the corners of the light box (they just need to be big enough for the leads of the leds to fit though) and do the same thing to the piece of glossy paper
10. take your leds and put a little bit of hot glue on the bottom of them to hold them in place, put the leds in the corners and feed the leads through their corrisponding holes
11. now take your sheet of glass and place it on top of the leds, followed by the two sheets of waxy paper
12. now close the light box, put the lcd back on top and attach the metal surround
13. now we look for the power regulator on the back of the board (it should be just above the 7.5v solder pack on the back of the board) and we are going to solder one end of our 10 ohm resistor to the left pin and now we take the other end of the resistor and solder it to the long positive pins of the leds and solder the short negative pins to ground and presto your done, just cut off the top piece of the board and it will fit inside the zn45 case.
