i find it easier to bend the cart pins back so there flat against the plastic

Where do i put my pos and ground pins from the multimeter on the cart slot? Thankyou for the pic, also.

basically, if there's a connection between the two wires from the multimeter, it will beep. Press both MM-pins against two spots next to each other. if it beeps, make sure it's not supposed to (it might be a short that is intended)

So basically one point on the mobo and 1 on the cart slot on the corrosponding pin will give me a beep? Thanks again, and sorry these messages are short. Im posting from my iphone, at work.

pretty much. I'd compare back of the mobo with inside of the cart slot. I'd also check all points next to each other and whether they are shorted.

Mine has the selection on the dial you're refering to, but it dosent beep I dont have one that makes noise. What's a good and a bad reading look like?

i'm not sure. Put the pins from the two handle thingies together and see what happens?

It stays at 1 when the 2 handles are together. I get readings from 50 to 200 to 35 from the pins. Some of the pins will stay at 1 when I hit 'em. I'm thinking those are the dead links. I'm on my lunch break now, but I'll mess with this thing more tonite.

Any other tips/hints/tricks would be cool, too! 8)

It looks like you soldered to the outside connections in the pics....solder to the inside no bridges

You can't use the inside pins. They're not actually connected.
