I was wondering if it was possible to hack a Dreamcast so that it could accept non-DC controllers. PS2 or USB would probably be the most useful. I know you can buy PS2 > DC converters but if both me and a friend want to use our PS2 sticks we're talking $40-$50 just in extra hardware!
Or is it possible to make my own converters for cheap?

Not really for cheap. You could probably find a pair of Dreamcast controllers cheaper than all the hardware needed to convert the signals to what the Dreamcast uses and hack those into your sticks.Rampage wrote:Or is it possible to make my own converters for cheap?

There is actually a way to use non-DC controllers on the Dreamcast, here is a tutorial of how to use a NES controller on a DC, I guess it can work with other controllers as well:
