Gamecube controller...
okay, so I'm trying this "rasping" thing that Kasar put in his guide...and I cannot for the love of god get it to work. I exposed the trace on one controller and am wiring it to the other one (do I need some kind of ground or something?) and it's not working at all...anyone help?

WHO IS KASAR!?!?!? WHO IS KASAR!?!?!? HE"S ONLY THE GREATEST PORTABLE GAMECUBE INFORMER TO GRACE THE INTERNET!!!!!!!!!Raizer04 wrote:um...who is kasar and where is his guide
If it weren't for Kasar, I would still be trying to figure out how to unscrew the Gamecube casing
Re: Gamecube controller...
kasar has a great guide for making a portable gamecube - I've used a lot of pin out info from the guide.
On rasping, what I did was to use a sharp razor knife to scrape away the protective trace covering. I used the blade on about a 30 degree angle and moved the blade in one direction until I had some copper to solder to. It's also important you use solder with flux, or have a flux pen to use in order to get a good solder connection.
Don't use a giant soldering tip either - overheating these small traces can cause them to lift up off the board and possibly break off, forcing you to go further back in the circuit to find a spot to make a connection.
Hope that helps.
