But seriously, this is a way better cause than most others that gamers support that actually have a legit tie to gaming. I think we could get a TON of signatures if a few people all agreed to get out there and do it.

He's got a good point, button remapping has actually gotten WORSE over the years.
Modern Warfare 2 my thumb got tired of constantly clicking in L3 to run... Any way to change it? Nope!

Mr. Heck thanks for the comment... glad you understand my point. This is something that should be a firmware update away.benheck wrote:He's got a good point, button remapping has actually gotten WORSE over the years.

I signed
I totally agree with this after watching your video, and seeing how many people are trying to make custom controllers nowadays.
I really hope the developers of games and consoles do something about this so that everyone can enjoy games ^_^
Good Luck!!

signed. Paranormal Activity got a wide release because of an online petition. Good luck!

What we need is a box with 17 ports that you can plug buttons into that are on cables so we can put them anywhere we want. Put the wireless and battery in the box, and run switches to the ports and bingo... the CAPper controller. I mean custom controllers are nice ($$$) but most people just need to be able to move a few buttons assignments around.Diminuendo wrote:isn't RDC doing something like this that works controller side?

No, this isn't the Manufacturers responsibility, You should send this to game publishers/Devs,AskACapper wrote:I feel this is directed mainly at console manufactures... they should take charge of reMapping. So DEVz don't need to QA test it.Diminuendo wrote:who are you submitting this to? I doubt you will be able to get all developers to do this. it's easyer in terms of scriptng to just have the attack button be "x". Lazy-ness will always prevail.
I will happily sign this though, but I'm just saying
The manufacturers aren't responsible for software in the least, they are more or less, just hardware, that would be like petitioning Microsoft because your disability stops you from being able to use a keyboard comfortably.
Don't get me wrong, I believe that you should have every right to remapping of buttons, you should just send it to Publishers/developers rather than manufacturers.

But then ALL publishers have to do it, and a lot of them will not want to.
If it was a hardware option, or an interpreter based in the firmware of the console, it can be truly universal, and would work with all controllers. Not sure how possible this is based on how game consoles communicate with conntrollers, but it is definitely something to hope for in the next round of consoles.

I think if it's in the console it would free the DEVz from having to "test" the reMapp in their QA testing. Make the console handle it... I think it is the better way.

Re: Working on "Custom Button reMapping/Layout" Petition
It could be done Via hardware, but do you really think Sony or Microsoft will add a feature to their console that would take more time/money to do, and would only satisfy a small population of users? I think that you will have more success sending this to a game developer, I really don't think Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo will really do anything about a petition. Although, you may get more luck if you sent around a petition and collected real signatures rather than E-sigs like Palmer said.
Regardless, Signed, I can't stand the setup in borderlands.

Re: Working on "Custom Button reMapping/Layout" Petition
Sure, it is unlikely the console makers will build in custom remapping in hardware, but it is far more unlikely that you could somehow convince every single game maker out there to build it in. Both ideas are admittedly longshots, but the people with the hardware have bigger incentive and less work.DNT 2.5 wrote:It could be done Via hardware, but do you really think Sony or Microsoft will add a feature to their console that would take more time/money to do, and would only satisfy a small population of users?
