I guess I have no excuse for not making the pathetically short one hour drive this year...
Shoot, I'd be willing to drive there all the way from Cali! Time and money is the show stopper for me though.

Faygo Brand soda-pop and Better-Made potato chips, YUM! I'll have to see what kind of a budget I have but I'll see about bringing a variety case of their cans. And so you all know I will be taking those cans back, their $0.10 each for crying out loud.

Triton, think you can bring any of that sweet home grown corn or soy? I know you have hundred of acers of farm land in Iowa to pick from. lol

It's the law of really big numbers, my good man! According to wiki, Iowa is 56,272 square miles. If we set aside half a sqaure mile for the great metropolis of Des Moines, that's 56,271.5 square miles. Obviously, this is all farmland. I'd estimate 20% of that to be soy, 80% to be corn. So, that would leave 45,017.2 square miles of corn farms. Within that, one plant has to be freakishly early to be harvested, right? Better start looking. But it's ok, if you get up on a ladder you'll be able to see pretty far out with the flat lands.

I like Nightwheel's "regional drink" idea! When I travel I find it fascinating what products certain areas have and others don't.

So yes, bring your stuff! And when you come, if you'd never eaten fried cheese curds, by all means do!

BPP is coming along more, I'm running out of stuff to do without another revision of the table! Thus far:
  • High score save in EEPROM. I will wipe it just before the show!
MUCH faster pre-loaded animations from EEPROM (the Windows bitmap-to-display byte order conversion is done ahead of time with a separate program)
Cartesian "window" panning of bitmap animations, for instance, a 4-frame rocket animation can be "panned" so it shoots across the screen
Text & score vertical scrolling (fun to spice things up)
    End-of-game MATCH for free credit
4 player mode, highest score noted at end of game

Is there any way you can have BPP log high scores to a text file on the SD card? If so, and it has the capability to save initials, a high score list would be fun to add to the "MGC Recap" blog post 8)

FYI for those on Facebook, yours truly here, has made a group for organizing before MGC and putting up pictures and videos afterwords. So I know there are a good number of you from this year's on Facebook and you should have received an invite so feel free to add to it.

I can't think of a regional drink of MN, but my town is the home of a snack food company that makes their own products, along with big name and private-label candy and chips. Notably, they make Andy Capp's knockoff chips for Master P :P My friends that work there get anything at the company store for near cost, by the pound, which is very cheap. Should I ask them to buy a bunch of chips and licorice?

Link? I'm not sure if you're talking about a new group, or fan page. There is one of each with a couple hundred members in each.
