av out issues

Post by joeafro »

So im coming to the end of all my wiring and nearing the case building stage. I only have one problem i have wired av out port thingys so i can connect the portable to a tv, my only issue is that when i plug the system into my tv the psone screen doesnt turn off. Does anyone know a mod to fix this, its not a big thing but its bugging the hell out of me.

You'd need a jack that has a built in switch that's normally closed to allow power to the screen when the plug isn't connected. when you connect it, the power to the screen would be cut and you'd have the screen turn off. The one for the headphone's on the psone screen already has something similar built in that makes the audio chip cut the sound to the speakers.

Cut the back of the jack inside the screen off. Epoxy a normally closed push button to the back of the jack. Hook the normally closed push button to the screens power wire. When you insert the A/V jack all the way in it will press and hold the push button , cutting power to the screen.
